All of our amber is sourced from the Baltic Rim, primarily the Sambian Peninsula and the Bay of Gdsansk, an area that lies between Poland and Lithuania on the Baltic Sea. It is estimated that 90% of Baltic Amber in the world comes from this region. Baltic Amber is graded as a Class 1(A) Amber. Class 1(A) Ambers contain 3% to 8% succinite, a compound found within the fossilised resin, and is considered to be a natural form of analgesia (pain relief). Baltic Amber is also known as ‘true amber’ for this reason, as not all ambers from else where in the world contain such high levels of natural pain relief.
